Our Aims

We believe that “all children should be known and valued.” Our ambition is to create environments where children can truly have a voice and their opinions are listened to. These environments will be indoors and outdoors. They will be adaptive to the child’s voice, and in the outdoor classrooms, they will learn without walls.

We will ensure this is achieved by placing the same values on all areas of learning, in the forest, sport, art, drama, and academic studies, so that all learning becomes a joyous experience that is celebrated and built on for life. We will strive in partnership with the child’s parents/carers to fully understand the child, their needs, and their interests in order to bespoke a learning programme just for them.

Our Values

  • We inspire creativity, imagination and curiosity

  • We, as a family of play-based learners, enthusiastically accept our differences

  • We believe children who are valued will be confident, happy and inspired to become independent learners

  • By knowing the child, we can help them become the best versions of themselves.

Approach to Learning

We have a holistic approach to learning so that all children are able to flourish. We ensure that the children have the best support:

  • By their side.

  • In front of them leading them.

  • Behind them supporting them.

Our Environment

We create an environment which supports your child’s interests and engages them and encourages them to explore. An environment that will inspire them to be curious and want to continue to learn.

We will encourage children to care for their own environment and for others within the nursery and the community.

Getting to know your child

We use the following five questions from the child’s point of view to get to know the children in our nursery: These are taken from the Te Whariki principles

  • Do you know me?

  • Can I trust you?

  • Do you let me fly?

  • Do you hear me?

  • Is this place fair for me?
